Vientiane

We arrived to capital of Laos, Vientiane, which is situated at the border with Thailand, naturally created by river Mekong. You can expect anything from this city but probably it will not be what it represents. There are large boulevards and promenade by the river, first one found in south east Asia till this time. Cities are normally turned back to the river, i.e. Bangkok. Vientiane seems cleaner and more accomodated to foreigners, however, we have mixed feelings. Still you can see just few metres apart of shopping centre total dump and garbage on the street. We have also established the EPC (“expansive poverty coefficient”), which means the poorer country the higher prices :-S And what´s the worse, people do not smile much and look at you with the totally annoyed face. Luckily not all of them, but still – what a cultural shock!?!

Prijeli jsme do hlavniho mesta Laosu, Vientiane, ktere lezi u hranic s Thajskem tvorene prirozene rekou Mekong. Vientiane vypada cistsi a vice prizpusobene cizincum, nicmene vyvolava velmi smisene pocity.
